5 things Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex cannot do

1. Play newly released games (EA Sports, Ubisoft .... hate Linux. Maybe they don't know how to transform from directx to opengl...... poor programmers). Actually they can't. They don't know.

2. Synchronize USB mobiles (calenders, sms, address book, call).

3. Video chat on msn or yahoo (gyachi, kopete, empathy are still jokes).

4. Make coffee (I haven't tried that).

5. Run Visual Studio (Isn't visual studio to make paper for Macrosooftt?).

For point 1 it might require until 10-20 % world re-register themself from Macrosooftt(which came when they bought their computers) to Linux or they start buying a real Linux computer. For other points work is in progress but not up to the mark. E.g if a webcam works on gstreamer-properties why does not it work on other chat. Chat on linux should be a grand one like ichat (share desktop, chat, share files i mean common platform for distributed persons).

Sorry but you are wrong on many points...

1. - you may/may not have sucess playing games in wine - some games are actually faster in wine than in real winblows

2. Yes you can - my sony sony ericsson phone can do all the things you mention - also ubuntu does not support as many phones, etc as other distros - i.e mandriva, etc

3. Yes you can - there are quite a few apps - i.e - http://www.phrozensmoke.com/projects/pyvoicechat/index_gyache.php (one example)

4. Your right it can't do that (theres hope for the future) - ubuntu does have a tea timer though....

5. If you can't run it through wine - you might try mono (runs dot net apps)

This is a lame blog. It says nothing. It is all banal generalities based on one person's perceptions or fears with no practical use.

It is poorly written, poorly researched and poorly documented. It does not deserve to be given any publicity.

How about writing about something that you actually know something about?
